Policies:

  • Information on this website is provided for general information about our services and how to contact us.

    • It is general in nature only;

    • Does not replace professional mental health assessment or treatment;

    • Does not establish a clinician -client relationship; and

    • Should not be used for self-diagnosis or clinical decision making.

    • We may update website content at any time and do not guarantee accuracy of completeness.

    • Governing law. These Terms are governed by, and will be construed in accordance with the laws of South Australia.  The Parties agree to irrevocably and unconditionally submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Australia, and courts hearing appeals from those courts.

    • Liability: The Practitioner is not liable for any direct, or indirect loss, damage or injury arising from the use of this website or reliance on its content. This includes (but is not limited to) viruses, technical issues or third-party-service failures.

If you are in crisis or need immediate support:

Call 000 or go to your nearest emergency department. You can also contact Lifeline on 13 11 14 or the Suicide Call Back Service on 1300 659 467, available 24 hours a day.

  • To keep this practice sustainable and accessible, I require 24 hours' notice for any cancellations or rescheduling. This allows me to offer the time to another patient on the waitlist. Sessions cancelled within this window, or missed without notice, will incur the full consultation fee. Your booking is a confirmed commitment to this time.

  • I prioritise being fully present with you. To achieve this, I use a high-standard clinical workflow that includes AI Scribe from Halaxy and Novonote/NovoPsych digital assessments. These secure, medical-grade tools ensure your records are highly accurate while allowing me to focus entirely on our conversation.

I chose NovoPsych’s Novonote because clinical data, including psychometric assessments and AI-generated session transcripts, is encrypted and stored on secure, ISO 27001-certified servers located in Australia, administered by Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Novonote: Our AI Scribing process is designed for maximum privacy: audio recordings are processed in real-time and deleted immediately after the transcript is generated. No audio is ever stored or used to train external AI models

All AI-generated summaries are reviewed and edited by the Practitioner for accuracy.

Participation in this integrated service is a standard requirement for all consultations.

    Environmental Ethics:

I recognise that the convenience of AI tools comes with a real environmental cost, specifically in energy and water consumption. In choosing my clinical tools, I have intentionally selected providers like NovoPsych and Halaxy who utilise Australian-based, energy-efficient data centres (AWS) with clear commitments to carbon neutrality.

I view the climate cost of these tools as a trade-off for a significant clinical gain: by reducing my administrative cognitive load, I can remain a more sustainable, present, and effective practitioner for you. I commit to regularly reviewing my digital footprint and opting for 'frugal AI'—using these tools only where they directly enhance the quality and safety of your care.

  • I understand that Leigh Peterson (the Practitioner) at Mindscaper takes a holistic approach to health and wellbeing, and that care may include, where clinically appropriate, therapeutic interventions, lifestyle recommendations, pharmacological treatment, and diagnostic assessment.

    Understanding of Treatment & Risks

    I acknowledge that:

    • The Practitioner is an endorsed Nurse Practitioner practising within an advanced and regulated scope of practice and works collaboratively with other health professionals where needed.

    • I understand that treatment may involve assessment, therapeutic, lifestyle, pharmacological, and diagnostic interventions, and that all healthcare involves potential risks and benefits.

    These may include:

    • Possible risks: temporary worsening of symptoms, medication side effects, allergic reactions, gastrointestinal discomfort, headaches, or other individual responses.

    • Possible benefits: symptom relief, improved wellbeing, functional recovery, improved health management, and prevention or early detection of illness.

    • I agree to contact the Practitioner promptly if I experience any unexpected or concerning reactions.

Nature of Treatment and Expected Outcomes:

    •  I understand that healthcare and therapeutic processes are individualised and influenced by many personal, medical, psychological and social factors.  While the Practitioner works collaboratively to provide evidence-informed, high quality care, no specific outcomes, timeframes or results can be guaranteed.  Progress may involve periods of change, stability, or difficulty, and responses to treatment vary between individuals.

    • I understand that active participation, communication and review are important parts of the therapeutic process.

    Client Responsibilities

    I agree to:

    • Fully disclose any medical conditions, medications, allergies, and supplements I am taking, including any changes to medications or dosages during the treatment period, as these may affect my treatment plan.

    • Inform the Practitioner if I am pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning pregnancy.

    • Notify my GP or healthcare provider about any treatments or supplements prescribed.

    • Inform the Practitioner if I follow a vegan or vegetarian diet, as some supplements or treatments may contain animal-derived ingredients.

    Ongoing Informed Consent

    I understand that:

    • This informed consent is an ongoing agreement, and additional consent may be required if there are significant changes to my treatment plan.

    • If treatment methods change, my ongoing verbal or written consent may be recorded in my consultation notes rather than requiring a new signature.

AI generated notes and assistive tools.

    I understand that:

    • The Practitioner may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools, such as NovoNote, to assist in capturing and summarising consultation notes.

    • AI-generated notes are used as an internal support tool and do not replace professional judgment or clinical assessment.

    • My personal information, including AI-generated notes, will be handled in accordance with Australian privacy laws and the clinic’s Privacy Policy

    Privacy & Data Handling

  • Welcome to Mindscaper (ABN 41 984 573 834) By booking a session or using this website, you agree to these Terms. This is a formal contract to ensure our professional relationship is safe and transparent.

    1. Our Shared Commitments

    • My Commitment: I provide ethical, evidence-informed care as an Endorsed Nurse Practitioner. I commit to collaborative decision-making, professional supervision, and providing 24 hours' notice for any changes to your care.

    • Your Participation: You agree to provide accurate health information (including medications and allergies), arrive on time, and engage in good faith. Clinical work happens within sessions; email is reserved for administrative tasks.

    2. Scope of Practice & Continuity

    • Right Fit: If your needs (e.g., specialist OCD or perinatal care) fall outside my scope, I will provide an honest referral.

    • Support Persons: You are welcome to bring a support person, provided the therapeutic environment remains safe and non-disruptive.

    • Ending Care: We aim for planned endings. However, services may be paused if safety is compromised, fees are unpaid, or it becomes professionally inappropriate to continue. I provide 2 weeks' notice for any practitioner-initiated transitions.

    3. Telehealth & Assessments

    • We use Halaxy for video consultations and NovoPsych for assessments. By booking, you agree to their respective terms and privacy protections.

    4. Prescribing (South Australia)

    • As a Nurse Practitioner, my prescribing is governed by AHPRA and PBS legislation.

    • Real-Time Monitoring: I use ScriptCheckSA to monitor controlled medicines.

    • Exclusions: I do not currently prescribe MATOD or initiate Schedule 8 medications for ADHD. A consultation does not guarantee a prescription; outcomes are based on clinical necessity and safety.

    5. Fees & Medicare

    • Payments: Fees are due on the day of service. Medicare rebates for Telehealth require a face-to-face appointment at least once every 12 months.

    • Cancellations: 24 hours' notice is required. Late cancellations or "no-shows" incur a 50% fee (not Medicare rebatable).
